True story - one time in a college Spanish class I got in trouble with the teacher because I kept questioning a poetry rule in Spanish. My issue: she kept saying that Spanish poetry rhymed with different rules. But the way she explained it wasn’t so straight forward. Instead, she kept saying, “These lines rhyme in this Spanish poem.” And I, a noble poet of the ripe age of 19 (i.e., full of sugar and not much else), kept looking at these words that (in my English mind) clearly didn’t rhyme at all, kept raising my hand and saying “No, they don’t.” I was a real jerk.
